The Founding Story

  

Mt Zion Universal Inc. was founded out of hardship, resilience, and a deep commitment to creating pathways for success. Its visionary founder, Mark B. Ade, experienced firsthand the challenges of unemployment, financial instability, and displacement, motivating him to build an organization that would break down barriers to opportunity.

Mark’s journey began in Cameroon, Central Africa, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance. He hoped his education would provide a solid foundation for career growth, but due to economic instability, he remained unemployed for nearly two years. His struggles intensified as genocide in Cameroon forced him to flee to the United States, seeking both protection and a better life.

Once in the U.S., Mark quickly realized that a degree alone was not enough to secure a stable financial future. Even those fortunate enough to land a job often struggled to keep up with basic expenses. Determined to change his circumstances, he saved money for a year, enrolled in an IT Audit Bootcamp, and—within three months—earned his CISA certification, leading to his first six-figure job.

Through this transformative experience, Mark understood the power of skill development and education, but he also recognized that many others in his community lacked the resources to access similar opportunities. Some couldn’t afford to attend college, while others struggled to pay for vocational training or entrepreneurship programs. This gap in access left countless individuals unemployed, financially insecure, and even homeless.

Motivated to create solutions, Mark stepped up to support Ami Zi, a fellow Cameroonian who faced similar struggles. With his guidance, Amira developed her braiding skills and successfully launched her own salon—a testament to the impact of mentorship and skill-building.

Mark’s experiences and community conversations reinforced the urgent need for a structured platform that provides education, professional development, and financial empowerment. This led to the creation of Mt Zion Universal Inc., an organization dedicated to bridging the gap between ambition and opportunity.

Through workshops, essential bootcamps, and scholarship programs, Mt Zion Universal Inc. equips young individuals with practical expertise in business creation, career development, and sustainable employment. The nonprofit fosters self-sufficiency, financial literacy, and leadership, ensuring that access to opportunity is not determined by financial status.
